How To Build An Online Store For Free With WooCommerce In 2025
Have you ever wanted to build an online store , web shop or Ecommerce website to for yourself, for your company or for you clients, My name is Jason Kainyah and In this tutorial I am going to be showing you how to build your very own online store for free using WordPress , WooCommerce, Elementor and a couple of other free resources. We will be exploring various topics in this tutorial like getting our domain, hosting , setting up Woocommerce, Setting Up formal things like taxes and shipping, creating products and so much more. We’ll then design our beautiful website, we’ll use Canva to create beautiful designs and banners for our website and lastly I’ll Introduce you to Email Marketing with Omnisend.

Why Have An Online Store
In 2025, there are so many ecommerce businesses that you can start or venture into. Some examples are affiliate marketing and drop shipping. Having an online store puts you at the top of the game. You will have your own online store uniquely branded with your own domain name, logo and website design. Having your own online store will make it easy for clients to buy you goods and shop on your store. Also, being able to build a fully functional online store with all the basic functionalities will be a plus unto you as a web designer
Steps We Will Take To Build Our Online Store
Here are the various steps both basic and advanced that we will be taking to build our online store
Getting Our Domain and Hosting
I will show you where to get the best hosting to ensure speed, protection and reliability for your online store and that is Hostinger. So just go over to hostinger.com . The business plan is the best plan and it is what I am using currently so once you get this hosting I can assure you that your website will be fast, it will be protected from hackers and it will boost your rankings on various search engines. The best part is, it’s very cheap. Hostinger also offers a free .com domain name once you buy their hosting, so you don’t have to worry about where to get a domain name for your online store.
Installing WordPress
WordPress is a CMS (Content Management System). It is the most powerful website builder on the web and it powers over 43% of all websites on the internet . If you don’t get that, there are over 1.1 billion websites on the internet and WordPress powers almost half of almost all of the websites on the internet. So if you want to build any kind of website including an online store , then WordPress is the way to go.
Installing and Setting Up Woocommerce
Woocommerce is a free WordPress plugin that transforms your normal website into an online store so that you can sell various products and services like Amazon , Ebay or Jumia. With Woocommerce, you can add products, accept payments (via credit cards or even momo), you can manage inventory, apply taxes, set shipping options and many more
The example you see above is one of the products were going to be creating in our online store . It’s an iPhone with variations in color and storage size, If you were selling clothes you could also apply these variations in terms of color and size.
We will also be learning how to accept payments on our website with cards, bank accounts, cash on delivery or mobile money.
Designing Our Website
In this video we will be designing our online store with the most powerful page builder on the internet which is Elementor. I’m going to show you how to use Elementor to design your online store to look unique but also easy to navigate and use by your clients. Creating Beautiful Designs For Our Online Store
I will also be showing you how to use a special platform called Canva to design various banners and designs for your online store and to promote your products. Canva is an all in one branding kit and you can use it to set the branding tone for your online store by designing banners and logos for your online store. This course is packed with everything you will need to build an award winning online store for free and with no coding experience that’s why it’s so long BECAUSE IT HAS EVERYTHING.
Introduction To Email Marketing
Another interesting we will be learning in this video is email marketing. We will be using a free and amazing platform called Omnisend to integrate email marketing into our website and this is gonna help boost sales and just generally manage everything for you.
